Evaluating Vocabulary Presentation in CEFR Get Smart Plus 4 in Malaysia

Textbooks play a vital role as the teaching and learning resources for both English Second Language (ESL) educators learners. A number of studies have been conducted to evaluate Malaysian EL textbooks. However, focused on vocabulary in CEFR primary school textbooks are still limited. Therefore, this research intends address identified gaps through evaluating presentation Get Smart Plus 4, textbook widely used among Year 4 The study aims identify usefulness provided textbook. mixed method explanatory design was selected study. group ESL chosen via purposive sampling technique collect information regarding subject matter. evaluation checklist distributed 48 respondents while 3 were interviewed semi-structured interview protocols obtain further information. result uncovered moderate usage targeted proven overall mean 2.74 (SD=0.71). Hence, is purposeful. As future studies, researchers can widen sample size focus other language skills.
